The tenth week again delivered, with a huge upset for the Bills demonstrating the 'any given Sunday' saying that attracts so many people into the National Football League
This outcome could have created opportunities for the Patriots to move back into a leading position they formerly held, with a schedule that gives them an advantage over their 8-2 rivals
Over in the National Football Conference the Seahawks and Rams had perfect results to set up a monster clash next week, while our player of the week is pursuing milestones as well as the Most Valuable Player award
Analysis - Just a Bad Day for the Bills?
Could it simply have been an emotional letdown from beating the Chiefs the previous week or something more? That's the question for the Buffalo team to answer
The Buffalo squad had secured seven victories in a row against the Dolphins but were second best from the beginning as the Miami team ran out 30-13 winners in an eye-opening outcome - and display
MVP quarterback Josh Allen only got the squad's initial first down in the third period and first points in the final quarter - yes the Dolphins had ten days to prepare but it was still a massive egg produced by one of the league's top offences
Dolphins quarterback Tua threw two touchdowns but running back De'Von Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 total yards and two scores
Containing the league's best running game was crucial too, with Cook and teammates registering just 86 yards, their lowest of the year and slightly more than half their 161.5-yard season average
Additionally there were the three critical ball losses, and the pair from Josh Allen specifically. An interception in the end zone meaning a nine-minute drive produced nothing, and his final quarter fumble that Miami converted to a touchdown just later
It was typical 'old Buffalo' as they shot themselves in the foot, falling into a hole on defensive side and Josh Allen attempting to do too much to rescue his squad out of it - rather than the composed, controlled, balanced Buffalo team we've seen this season
The Dolphins have demonstrated a bit of everything this year so the verdict is uncertain on whether this is the beginning of a trend, but for Buffalo they'll need an instant response in a difficult matchup against Tampa Bay next week as the Patriots are sneaking into a nice lead at the summit of the American Football Conference East
Spotlight - New England Identify Route to Unexpected First Place
Speaking of the Patriots, they're among three eight and two squads in the league, all American Football Conference teams, but could they be the top team?
One could find flaws in New England, Denver and the Colts really for feasting on the weaker opponents, with just five of their combined twenty-four victories coming against teams with a winning record - and one example was the Colts beating the Denver
The Broncos beat the champion Eagles in Philly and are masters of the fourth-quarter while Indy can ride Taylor, but the Patriots including Sunday's win in Tampa Bay to their primtime win in Buffalo appears to be a statement
Their pair of losses occurred in recently appointed coach Mike Vrabel's initial three games, with seven straight wins, similar to Denver, since then - but defeating Baker Mayfield after the Bucs had a week off to get ready was huge
Drake Maye's MVP claims won't go away, and he definitely deserves credit for bravery after taking some hard tackles in Tampa Bay but hanging in there to steer his team to victory
The defense is solid and rookie running back Henderson exploded on Sunday with 147 yards and two exhilerating touchdowns of 55 and 69 yards - establishing himself as just the fifth runner to exceed 22 miles per hour this year on his initial touchdown
While you can debate who 'the top team' is statistically, the Patriots should be favorites to end with the top record due to their schedule - which includes just one game against a winning team, although a huge one against Buffalo
Traveling to the Ravens is challenging too, but Denver have it more difficult in the AFC West division with the Kansas City to face two times, the Chargers (who might also compete for first place but face the identical challenge) and additionally the Packers on the fixture list
The Indianapolis also face the Chiefs, and have the Seattle, San Francisco and two matchups with the 5-4 Jaguars to contend with. There is a considerable distance to go but the opportunity is open for a shock top seed in the AFC
Next Week - Los Angeles and Seattle Set for Next Week Showdown
Both squads with strong arguments to be superior to all of the three 8-2 sides are NFC West opponents the Seahawks and Los Angeles, who each put up forty points to reach 7-2 before next week's Hollywood blockbuster meeting between the two in LA
They've both secured four victories in a row, have quarterbacks in Matthew Stafford and Darnold playing at an elite level (although Sam Darnold had turnover issues on Sunday) with top receivers, and defenses giving up under 20 points a contest
Both could realistically be undefeated as well - especially the Rams as their pair of losses came in extra time against the 49ers and then that agonising loss in Philly when they had a game-winning field goal with the final play deflected and run back by the Eagles for a score
Seattle were also defeated to San Francisco, with a late touchdown in week one, before falling to the final play of the contest against the Tampa Bay - so they are truly among the top teams in the league
The next matchup on Sunday could be the most exciting of the year so far
Player of the Week - Jonathan Taylor
Jonathan Taylor could be on for a record season after his incredible display in Berlin - rushing for 244 yards, registering three touchdowns and adding another forty-two {receiving yards
