Jurgen Klopp says rejoining to manage Liverpool is conceivable.

Jurgen Klopp, who departed from Liverpool in 2024, has suggested that a future comeback is a possibility. Klopp, following a hugely successful nine-season tenure featuring Champions League success and the Premier League crown for three decades, now holds roles in a global football capacity with the Red Bull group and as an advisor with the German Football League.

Fan Sentiment and His Frank Comments

They secured the Premier League in the previous campaign, though countless followers who revere Klopp would be thrilled by the possibility of his potential comeback. During an extensive chat, he explained to the podcast host: “I declared I will never coach another team within the country. Therefore if then it’s Liverpool...absolutely. In theory, it could happen.”

“At 58 years old, so I could make the decision down the line, I don’t know. Is a decision required immediately? In that case, I'd stay away. Fortunately, it's not necessary. I'll wait and observe what lies ahead.”

Conditions for a Comeback

Pressed on which situations would need to occur to draw him back to management, he confessed he isn't eager for a comeback. “I'm not entirely sure, I love what I do right now,” he stated. “No longing for management; No desire to be under bad weather for two-and-a-half or three hours; I don’t miss going to media briefings four times, three times a week or doing numerous chats weekly.

“The locker room isn't missed per se, yet sharing a meal with the players having a nice chat, is pleasant. With many victories so there was often positive atmosphere in the building. I still have Virgil [Van Dijk’s] laugh ringing in my ears as an instance.”

Praise for His Successor

He commended of the current boss, praising him for the tweaks which secured the championship in the previous season. The team has suffered four in a row in every contest following significant transfers, but he rubbished the idea of it representing the start of a downward turn.

“[Liverpool have] a phenomenal forward in Flo[rian] Wirtz, you will all eat your words if you use the wrong words. He’s an incredible talent. Ekitike, excellent performer. They have a strong balanced team. No need for concern about Liverpool, things will improve.”

Heartfelt Words for the Late Forward

He shared movingly on the loss of Jota, a 2020 acquisition in 2020, and the effect for the team. Jota died tragically in a car crash together with his sibling in July.

“Can you substitute such an individual? It goes beyond the player himself, his personality mattered. I can’t imagine the dressing room without him in it. I still cannot speak properly about it. It was an incredible shock for all the boys also. Not a single person will ever use it as an excuse yet it's the reality. Entering the changing area which he filled completely. Handling this individually is not easy. Impossible.”
