Weapon-carrying attackers have taken the life of an instructor and seized a minimum of 25 learners in an raid targeting a girls' secondary school in north-western Nigeria, police reports indicate.
The gang of attackers stormed the public educational institution for female students in Maga, Kebbi State at approximately 04:00 local time on the beginning of the work week, officials stated.
The assailants "exchanged fire with security forces on duty in a shootout" before breaching the school's outer barrier and seizing the students from their hostel, according to a statement.
