The Gruesome Cartoon Film Ending That Haunts Fans

Among every adult-oriented cartoon movies I have personally watched, no other has lingered in my mind quite like the dread-soaked ending of a graphically gory and overwhelingly transgressive film from 2022 Unicorn Wars.

In 2015’s, the Spain-based writer-director created a dark, bleak and frequently brutal universe that included some tiny , desolate twinges of optimism.

Although Unicorn Wars appears as it stemmed from an impulse to push the medium further, the filmmaker explained that it was actually a try to communicate a universal, multicultural message concerning “the mutual source of every conflict.”

That message is expressed via a band of brightly hued teddy bears , openly based on a well-known line of cuddly characters.

Maturing in a society focused on aggression as well as the military-industrial complex, many of these creatures are consumed by slaughtering unicorns, due to a sacred text that claims the bears they used to be kings of the woodland, until the unicorns drove them out.

Some haven’t fully accepted the brainwashing, , prefer to sample substances or mate in the forest.

In contrast to their gentle equivalents, these bright beings display sexual organs , obvious urges.

For one notably brutal, cynical bear, Bluey, the battle with the unicorns turns into a path to power — and specifically to dominance above his softer, nicer brother the bear Tubby.

This bear behaves aggressively and an obvious antisocial figure , and when fear takes over his group and kills his comrades one by one, he seizes more and more influence for himself, via progressively violent, destructive ways.

Simultaneously, these mythical beings are experiencing their own horror, as a spreading, deadly beast in their woods.

“In the early stages, it seems like a humorous movie,” the filmmaker commented. “However it turns into a more dramatic and sad film. And in the finale, it becomes a terrifying movie.”

The Unicorn Wars begins feeling a bit like one of the most quirky movies by a renowned animator, which find a mischievous joy in letting drawn beings curse, shoot each other, or sex each other up.

Then it becomes closer to a darker movie by that same director, featuring progressively visual gore and a noticeable connection to the real suffering of conflict.

Ultimately, it becomes a full-on extreme drama carnage.

The fear that turns the film an ideal spooky-season watch starts much sooner than that description suggests.

Unicorn Wars is one for the most dedicated fans of gore, for lovers of graphic films who want to see something they have not watched previously, and are able to withstand a story which delivers absolutely no punches.

Watch it in a dark room free from interruptions, and the conclusion will dig into your mind and take up residence there.
