NFL 2025 season: Week six
Real-time updates includes text commentary for the weekend matchups via multiple platforms, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, audio coverage can be heard on select stations covering a separate game (from 21:00 BST).
We're in the sixth week of the football calendar , following recent discussion regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as possible championship contenders, they both lost their unbeaten records.
Striking in those games were the amount of penalties each conceded. The Eagles did so at crucial times meaning they kind of beat themselves after leading by two touchdowns going into the fourth period versus Denver, set to play in London this Sunday.
However it was good to see that Denver's QB Bo Nix was able to overcome that deficit before direct three successful possessions in three attempts during the final period, securing the victory by four points.
Denver boast the top defender with CB their star corner. They rank first in red zone defence, whereas the Eagles are number one in scoring near the end zone, yet the Broncos won that contest.
They executed effective strategies regarding disguised blitzes. They weren't necessarily sending extra defenders but they could position two LBs in the 'A' gap then drop them out and send a nickel from the outside.
Early on of the season, it was noted on a program how Denver might emerge as the current year's surprise contenders. They finished the previous year strongly and did a good job in continuing that momentum.
Are the Denver Broncos this year's underdog story?
Recently acquired TE their tight end has excelled big while new running back their rusher is a player they believe in. He now ranks fifth in the NFL for rushing yards (over 400) and tied for fourth in rushing scores (four).
It's impressive that the coach Sean Payton has "RUN IT!" prominently on his call sheet.
That shows that Denver represent a team that wants to run first, since one can achieve much off the back of that. It slows opposing rushes while maintains in positive situations.
It's also benefited quarterback the young passer, who came the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick last year, passing for 29 touchdown passes – just behind a star QB in rookie records (31 in 2020).
Josh Allen and Herbert have the arm strength to throw all over, but they lack in the same way as Nix. He has incredible passing ability, which is different, and he's highly agile.
His assets include his mobility, being able to pass on the run, and using varied release points to deliver the pass when he rolls outside protection, the bootlegs. He can deliver that layered pass across the middle and past defenders.
As a rookie QB, aged 25, he displays a lot of poise under pressure and isn't really fazed by extra rushers. He tries to avoid a sack whenever possible and is able pass under pressure. He has a high football IQ and remains very decisive.
If you consistently run the ball it eats up time and forces the defence to be on the field extended periods, and when you've got a mobile QB the defence must defend the area vertically side to side. This proves draining.
Nix has bitten back with the coach on the sideline at times and I think the coach likes that fire, that he's such a competitor. I think it's exciting for him to coach a rookie QB that is kind of like moldable clay. The coach can truly develop him how he desires to shape him. I believe it's a unique opportunity for the coach.
Payton owns a championship and now passed a legend in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed it all. I think the success Denver are having offensively is largely due to his leadership, his play-calling, his game sense – and the pairing with Nix aids make him what he is.
You wouldn't want a better guy guiding you, to help you through some of the tougher situations and boost self-belief.
I believe in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet are they good enough to face an elite team at its best? Because that wasn't a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles last Sunday.
Right now, it's unlikely the Broncos are elite. They're performing above average, which is a good place to hold the AFC West. The key to do is maintain this trajectory.
They excel at embracing their forte, which is the ground game, and this is precisely what they should do against the Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.
The Jets have allowed 140 rushing yards per game (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (in the bottom ten), and they are the only team yet to win any game.
Ever since the NFL began tracking turnovers decades ago, the Jets are also the inaugural squad to be without any turnovers through five games, this is surprising when you think that their new coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.
Patrick Mahomes stated Kansas City are off to a poor start following a recent loss to Jacksonville.
Following this Sunday's game, Denver face a smooth-ish schedule up to their break (in week twelve) - the Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans and Las Vegas Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.
In their division, Kansas City hold a losing record and the Broncos are even with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 so they could make a run for the top of the division.
It depends upon which form Kansas City shows up they face since Denver {beat|def
